Korean actor Hwang In Youp returned to his second home, the Philippines once again for his ‘In Love’ fan meeting show on January 25 at the New Frontier Theater. The ‘True Beauty’, ‘Why Her?’, and ‘Family by Choice’ star made her HIYILYs (his fans) fall in love with him all over again with his an engaging and interactive fan meeting, that even a casual fan couldn’t resist falling for.
Coming back to his second home country
The fan meeting organized by Viu Philippines began with Hwang In Youp singing ‘Flowerpot’, which he also sang in the hit Korean drama series ‘True Beauty’. After three years, Hwang In Youp’s love has blossomed even more as he was warmly welcomed by his Filipino HIYILYs (even at the airport). This warmth inspired him to take pictures of his fans, capturing his own point of view that he can later share with them. The reason for this is that he always receives pictures from his fans but never has one of his own. He happily said hello to his Filipino fans saying,
Kumusta po kayo? (How are you?) It’s been three years since the last time I came to the Philippines and it’s like my second home so I’m very happy
Did you know that he studied high school at Nikkei Jin Kai International School and took up Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design at the Philippine Women’s College of Davao? Talking about his second home, Davao, Philippines, Hwang In Youp shared,
I lived in Davao before, and I haven’t returned back since. I really want to visit Davao again soon.
That’s is why living in Davao, Philippines made him not only love the country but also its people and, of course, the food. Among his favorite Filipino foods like halo-halo, sinigang, and lechon, there’s one Filipino food that he wanted to try eating again. He said, “I even looked for kwek-kwek today, but I couldn’t find it”.

What makes Hwang In Youp charming? A lot, actually. From his live vocals, singing his rendition of George Benson’s ‘Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You,’ to his adorable dance moves to hit tracks like Kiss of Life’s ‘Igloo,’ ATEEZ’s ‘Ice on My Teeth,’ and ‘Okey Dokey’ by Mino and Zico, Hwang In Youp is truly a talented actor.

Hwang In Youp was very happy engaging with Filipino HIYILYs that night. He surprised his fans by strolling around the theater to personally say hello and interact with them. He noticed that the fans who attended his fan meeting in Manila were a balanced mix of male and female fans that made him smile. He even playfully teased his fans saying, “Did you just arrive? It’s so sad.” Hwang In Youp shared his favorite places, like Han River Park in South Korea, his own drawing of a fox on a Smart Tok pop socket phone grip holder, and scenes from the Korean series ‘Family by Choice’.
A night full of fun memories
The fan meeting wouldn’t be over without unforgettable memories between Hwang In Youp and his Filipino HIYILYs. Selected lucky fans had the chance to get closer to him, from taking Polaroid photos to recreating scenes from the series, even playing a basketball relay and couple’s jump rope. The event ended with a hi-touch session with Hwang In Youp, leaving the whole theater buzzing. Hwang In Youp’s ‘In Love’ fan meeting show ended with a photo with him and his Filipino HIYILYs and sang ‘Starlight’ from the Korean series ‘True Beauty’.

Hwang In Youp was also surprised with greetings from his fans all over the Philippines through a special video played on the screen. He thanked his fans for coming to his fan meeting show and for all the support they have been giving him. Rest assured,
