After the success of her pre-release track “Love wins all” with a Perfect All Kill on the charts, IU (or Lee Ji-Eun in real life) will make her comeback drama together with actor Park Bo-Gum in the upcoming Korean drama series, “When Life Gives You Tangerines” (working title). This will be first time IU and Park Bo-Gum will be working together in a Korean drama.
The series will took place in 1950, where it follows the story of Ae-Sun (portrayed by IU), a rebel from Jeju Island, and Gwan-sik (portrayed by Park Bo-Gum), a quiet but reliable person to the story. Moon So-Ri (Queenmaker) and actor Park Hae-joon (The World of the Married) will portray the older versions of Ae-sun and Gwan-sik respectively.
When Life Gives You Tangerines will be directed by Kim Won Seok ( My Mister and Signal) and written by Lim Sang Chun (When the Camellia Blooms).
IU was known for the success of the hit Korean dramas such as “Moon Lovers: Scarlett Heart Ryeo” (2016), “My Mister” (2018), and “Hotel del Luna” (2019), while Park Bo-Gum starred in “Reply 1988” (2015), “Love in the Moonlight” (2016), “Encounter” (2019), and “Record of Youth” (2020).
IU will be releasing her 6th mini-album “The Winning” on February 20 at 6 PM KST which includes the pre-release track, and will begin her H.E.R. World Tour in Seoul this March 2, 3, 9, and 10.
