IU‘s talent agency Kakao M confirms that the singer-actress will be joining actor Park Seo-joon on a film directed by Lee Byung-hun, the director who helmed 2019’s highest-grossing film ‘Extreme Job’.
Acting for the lead role alongside Park Seo Joon for the first time in a movie, IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, will portray a character that is passionate about supporting a soccer team, while Park Seo Joon is set to lead it, which the movie’s plot is set to revolve on.
Titled Dream, the film will highlight the story of a team trying to join an annual international soccer event called Homeless World Cup.
IU previously showcased her superb acting skills on the recent Korean dramas ‘Hotel Del Luna’ and ‘My Mister’, which garnered impressive viewership ratings and multiple drama awards, sprawling her to further fame. She debuted as an actress on the 2011 drama ‘Dream High’.
Park Seo Joon, on the other hand, is known for several dramas such as ‘Fight For My Way’, ‘What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim’, ‘She Was Pretty ‘, and more. He also worked on the film ‘Divine Fury’ and is set to return on the small screen this year with ‘Itaewon Class’.
