IU has been cast to be part of Koreeda Hirokazu’s upcoming movie ‘Broker’.
It was announced in August 2020 that the Japanese director would be directing his first-ever Korean film. He is the man behind the movie ‘Shoplifters’ who won the Palme d’Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
IU will be joining Bae Doona, Kang Don Won, and Song Kang Ho who have also been cast in the upcoming movie. Zip Cinema, which produced the film ‘#ALIVE’ will be producing the upcoming film while CJ ENM will be distributing the film.
The ‘Broker’ is a working title of the upcoming film about people who are no longer able to provide for the needs of their babies. From there, the so-called ‘Baby Boxes’ will be provided for them.
