Korean actress Jun Ji Hyun, who starred on many notable films and dramas such My Love From The Star (2013) and Legend of the Blue Sea (2016), is finally returning to the small screen after a long hiatus, as it is now confirmed that she will join the cast of the Netflix original Korean drama series ‘Kingdom’ for seasons 2 and 3.
She went on hiatus as she gave birth to her second son.
It was reported that Netflix Korea, along with the drama’s staff, had already negotiated with the actress in secret.
The filming for ‘Kingdom’ season 2 already started this early summer, and Jun Ji Hyun will play a very critical role in it. Jun Ji Hyun’s agency expressed that they are open if they would continually cast her for its season 3.
Following a storyline like the mega-hit film ‘Train To Busan’, the drama ‘Kingdom’ made waves not only in Korea but also to many countries worldwide, with its Netflix availability helped sprawling its popularity overseas.
Written by ‘Kim Eun Hee’ who penned dramas such as ‘Signal’, the drama tells the fictional story of a crown prince from the Joseon era whose kingdom had faced a terrible plague. Citizens have turned into zombies and are dangerously attacked people at the kingdom. The drama was directed by Kim Sung-hoon, who directed dramas like ‘Tunnel’.
The season 2 of ‘Kingdom’ will premiere on Netflix this March 2020. -HallyuLife.com
