Mnet releases a teaser for an upcoming reality survival show titled I-LAND and Neverlands (fans of (G)I-DLE aren’t happy about the title of the said show.
I-LAND is Big Hit Entertainment and CJ ENM‘s first venture project under BELIFT LAB Incorporations. The survival show will feature contestants competing to become the next generation of K-Pop idols.
This reality survival show sparked disappointments to Neverlands because the title of the show is similar to (G)I-DLE’s ‘I-LAND’ tour. The term ‘I-LAND’ is a combination of the letter ‘I’ from the group’s name and ‘LAND’ which represents the Neverlands. The said tour was originally scheduled to begin on April 4 in Bangkok and then postponed due to the current situation.
The term ‘I-LAND’ was also one of the considered fandom name for (G)I-DLE. The hashtag #cube_protect_gidle is being used by Neverlands to reach out to Cube Entertainment with hopes up to address this matter.
I-LAND is very important for idle and nevies
1. It was going to be the girls' first tour and it was going to be the first time that fans see them.
2. Name has deep meaning.

Because of this naming controversy, Neverlands are not blaming Big Hit Entertainment nor Mnet but CJ ENM.
