South Korean boy group RIIZE (short for RISE&REALIZE) made their stage debut in the Philippines with their 2024 Fancon tour “RIIZING DAY” in Manila together with BENCH last July 14, 2024, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Manila is the group’s sixth city stop, following Seoul, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Taipei, and Singapore, Bangkok, and Jakarta are next on their tour. What makes their first visit to the Philippines special is that Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Wonbin, Sohee, and Anton are the latest brand ambassadors or #GlobalBENCHSetter for the clothing brand BENCH.

RIIZE graced their Philippine stage debut with their roaring performance of “Siren”, which ignited the whole coliseum with orange as Philippine BRIIZE (their fans) waved their fanlights. The group was touched as the Filipino fans welcomed them with loud cheers. Eunseok said that even though this was their first time performing in the Philippines, he and the members already felt the passion of their cheers and support for the group. Shotaro even prepared a Tagalog introduction of himself saying, “Ako si Shotaro, ang may pinaka pinaka magandang smile!” (I am Shotaro, the one with the most beautiful smile!)

A fancon will not be complete without the fun games both RIIZE and BRIIZE shared that night. One of the highlights is when the members danced to hit P-pop songs such as “GENTO” by SB19 and “Salamin, Salamin” by BINI, which had the entire coliseum cheering for them because they did it charismatically. They even sang One Direction’s “One Thing”, which is dedicated to their Philippine BRIIZE.

RIIZE wows their Philippine BRIIZE as they performed songs such as “Happy! Happy! Happy!”, “Honestly,” “9 Days,” “Impossible,” “One Kiss,” and “Memories.” They also performed hit tracks including “Love 119,” “Talk Saxy,” “Get A Guitar,” and “Boom Boom Bass,” which had the crowd singing and dancing. Before the end, the members thanked their fans for their overwhelming love and support. Sungchan was happy to meet their Philippine BRIIZE face to face. Eunseok praised the Filipino fans for their exceptional and extraordinary energy, and he hopes that when they return, they will be able to explore the Philippines more and play on a bigger stage for their next show. AAnton was grateful for the opportunity to perform in front of their fans, while Wonbin enjoyed the night even though his voice became hoarse. Shotaro added that the group receives a lot of energy from their BRIIZE for them to perform well. Finally, Sohee said,
Thanks to BRIIZE, RIIZE made it this far. With BRIIZE by our side, we’ll be able to continue and be successful. Going forward, we’ll become the RIIZE that BRIIZE can be proud of. Manila BRIIZE’s energy was beyond my expectations. The energy, the happiness, how you enjoyed, it’s all beyond the expectations, that’s why I also enjoyed this show as well.
