SEOUL – The one year and eight months of marriage between Korea’s top actors – Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo, is formally over after the Seoul Family Court approves the divorce settlement first filed by Song Joong-ki, after a closed door meeting between the couple’s legal representatives on Monday. The court didn’t provide any other details between the settlement.
The decision came 25 days after Song Joong-ki filed a divorce to end his marriage to Song Hye-kyo.
“Given that the conclusion was made in a relative short period of time, I believe both sides reached an agreement on all conditions (for divorce) before the actor Song raised the issue,” the court spokesperson added.
The couple split was due to ‘personality differences’, according to United Artists Agency (UAA), which was Hye Kyo’s agency.
After the decision, Song Hye Kyo’s agency issued a statement, saying the divorce was approved with nobody claiming alimony or any sort of property division.
The two married in October 31, 2017 after they worked together through the mega-hit TV drama “Descendants of the Sun” in 2016. -HallyuLife.com
