MANILA – The Philippine Blockchain Week, which took place from September 19-21 at the Mariott Grand Ballroom, made a “BREAKOUT” this year, with the goal of solidifying the Philippines’ status as Southeast Asia’s blockchain capital. The three-day event includes the first-ever NEXUS FAN FAIR, an epic celebration of gaming, technology, entertainment, music, and more. It also featured “Michael Cinco Couture,” a ready-to-wear collection that combined physical aspects of the gowns with Metaverse and NFTs.

After diving into the technological marvels of Metaverse, Web3, and NFTs, let’s all immerse ourselves in another first in the world of K-pop, where four members of tripleS’s subunit EVOLution made their first-ever Southeast Asian performance at the Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) on September 21, prior to their official debut on October 11 this year with a privileged few who had the chance to participate in an exclusive Meet and Greet with the members — and here’s how it unfolds.

But before tripleS performed on the Philippine stage, P-pop girl group G22 opened the concert night with songs such as “BANG”, “Babalik”, “Defy”, and “Boomerang”. Erwin Benedict Valencia, who hosted the event, introduced the world’s first decentralized K-pop idol group tripleS, who made their Southeast Asian debut at the Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW). When the time came, the girls could hear the loud cheers from the PH WAVs (their fans), who were delighted to see them for the first time. tripleS’s subunit EVOLution’s Yooyeon, Soomin, Nakyoung, and Yeonji performed songs such as “Generation” and “Rolex” from Acid Angel from Asia’s (AAA) debut album “ACCESS.”

The girls introduced themselves to the crowd saying, “Hi, tripleS! Hello, we are tripleS!” and were warmly welcomed by the Filipino audience. Yooyeon said, “This is our first time in the Philippines, and we’re very excited to be on stage!” “It’s an honor for us to be part of the Philippine Blockchain Week,” Yeonji, who performed on stage for the first time as a tripleS member, continued.
Nakyoung added, “We practiced hard for today’s stage!” and Soomin happily said, “Let’s enjoy together, okay?”
Yooyeon described their experience in the Philippines before their Philippine stage performance. The girls ate sweet and sour pork, steak, seafood, and a mango dessert. They also had a great time swimming in the pool at night. Yeonji was nervous, but she was also excited and honored to be performing as a tripleS member for the first time. Nakyoung, on the other hand, is delighted with the debut of the fifth sub-unit group EVOLution, as well as the release of the first album “EVOLution <⟡>.” Soomin was amazed by the wonderful side of the Philippines, which is like a scene from a movie, and the Philippine mangos made me happy as well, making them want to return for sure.
Yooyeon, Soomin, Nakyoung, and Yeonji then continued to perform on stage with “Rising” (from the mini album “Assemble”) and “Girls’ Capitalism” (from tripleS LOVElution’s mini album “LOVElution <ↀ>”). The girls thanked their fans in the Philippines for their warm welcome and they enjoyed the crowds’ energy. They ended their Southeast Asian debut in the Philippines with “Colorful”.
The fusion of cutting-edge technology and amazing music created an unforgettable experience that transcended boundaries and connected people from all walks of life. This marks the endless possibilities that await in the ever-evolving world of technology and entertainment.
