Jennie of BLACKPINK finally released her first ever track, “SOLO” on November 12 at 6pm KST.
On October 18, YG Entertainment revealed that all Blackpink Members will release a solo track and it was also revealed that Jennie will be the first member to release a solo track.
On October 27, YG Entertainment revealed the poster for Jennie’s first solo release. It was also revealed that the title of the said track is aptly titled, “Solo” which was written by Teddy.
On November 10 and 11, the fans who watched Blackpink’s “In Your Area Tour” first witnessed Jennie’s first single.
On November 12, Jennie had her special one-hour V-Live broadcast entitled, “All About Jennie”. This is where she introduced her solo concept, as well as countdown to the song’s release. As she ends her live broadcast follows the release of her music video.

As the mv got released, the #JENNIESOLO got over 200k tweets (533k as of 11pm KST) and became number 1 trending topic worldwide on Twitter. As of 11pm KST, the music video got 4.6 million views on Youtube and 1.7 million views on V app.
As of 8:30pm, Jennie’s “Solo” hit No.1 on the realtime charts of all six major music sites: Melon, Genie, Bugs, Mnet, Naver and Soribada.
Jennie truly showed a girl with fragile and delicate image and a woman with a strong and independent attitude. Yet she showed her beauty, humbleness, great acting and the best part, dance choreography that slayed the most in the music video.
