South Korean boy group The Boyz made a grand return to Manila with their ZENERATION 2 concert, filling the evening with wonderful performances and genuine connections with their fans. After their successful ZENERATION 1 Tour last year, the group was eager to show how much they’ve grown, and they didn’t disappoint.
The concert kicked off with high-energy performances of ‘Diamond Life,’ ‘Out of Control,’ and ‘Maverick.’ The Boyz showcased their sharp choreography and captivating stage presence, instantly drawing The B’s (their fandom name) in. The crowd’s energy surged even more as they performed ‘Tattoo’ and ‘Levitating,’ showcasing their ability to captivate with both intense and smooth performances.
As the night continued, The Boyz treated their fans to more of their iconic tracks, including ‘Back on Black’ and ‘Breaking Dawn.’ These performances were a testament to how far they have come since their last visit to Manila. The fans could not help but cheer louder with each song, showing their appreciation for the group’s growth and hard work.
In between songs, the members took moments to connect with the audience in their special ways. Kevin, always warm and engaging, greeted the fans with, “Kamusta bestie? Masaya ba kayo?” bringing a sense of familiarity and joy to the evening. Juyeon added a playful touch with his comment, “Wag kayong tumingin sa iba sa akin lang,” making the crowd laugh and cheer even louder. Sunwoo and Younghoon also took time to express their admiration for the fans, with heartfelt comments like, “Ang ganda ninyyo.”
Despite feeling under the weather, Jacob pushed through, motivated by the love and energy of the fans. He even surprised everyone with a special cover of the Filipino song ‘Binibini’ by Zack Tabudlo. His heartfelt rendition touched the fans, deepening the connection between The Boyz and their Filipino fans. Jacob shared his gratitude, saying, “I want you guys to enjoy, so I really wanted to perform well, but I was sick—I got a cold and had a runny nose. Thanks to your energy, I was able to contain myself. Let’s see each other again next time. Mahal kita.”
The concert also had its softer, more emotional moments. The Boyz performed beautiful ballads like ‘WALKIN’ IN TIME,’ ‘HORIZON,’ and ‘SURVEY THE NIGHT.’ As the group sang these heartfelt songs, the atmosphere in the arena shifted to one of warmth and connection. Juyeon was visibly moved, saying, “As we sing the ballad songs, I was really touched since you guys look full of love.” It was a moment that showed just how strong the bond between The Boyz and The B’s truly is.
Before wrapping up the night, The Boyz shared some exciting news with their Filipino Deobis—they’re working on a new album. This announcement was met with cheers and applause, as fans eagerly anticipated more music from the group. Eric expressed his deep connection to Manila, saying, “I feel like you guys are our hometown, so it’s always good to be home. Always remember Eric loves you.” It was clear that Manila holds a special place in The Boyz’s hearts.
As the concert came to an end, The Boyz thanked their fans for the incredible energy and love they received. Kevin expressed his gratitude, saying,
Thank you so much for being such loyal fans. Mamimiss ko kayo. Mahal ko kayo and thank you for the memories. I hope you guys had a memorable time with us.” The members promised to return to the Philippines soon, already looking forward to their next visit.
